Visitor Guidelines

  • Video and audio recording devices and music playing devices are prohibited.Β 
  • Visitors may not touch any of the objects on display, including furniture.Β 
  • No oversized items such as luggage or backpacks are permitted in the galleries.Β 
  • Food (including gum and candy) and beverages are prohibited in the galleries.Β 
  • Smoking is not permitted.Β 
  • Non-service animals, scooters, skateboards, skates and e-bikes are not permitted.Β 
  • Sketching in the galleries with pencil and paper is permitted. Use of any other art materials, including, but limited to, any kind of paint, charcoal, pastel, clay, crayon, or marker is prohibited. Art making setup, including additional seating, stands, and easels, are also prohibited.Β 

Photography

  • Photography without flash is permitted in the Museum galleries for private, noncommercial use only.
  • Flash, lighting devices, tripods, and other photographic devices are not permitted.
  • Photographs cannot be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed, or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever.
  • Photography of any works from the Library or the Prints & Photographs collections is not permitted.
  • Please note that museum quality photographic reproductions of works in the collection may be ordered through ourΒ Department ofΒ Rights and Reproductions.
