The Hispanic Society of America Museum & Library was founded in 1904 by Archer Milton Huntington (1870-1955), an outstanding Hispanist and one of America’s greatest philanthropists, as a free museum, library, and educational institution dedicated to the arts, literature, history, and cultures of Spain, Latin America, Portugal and the Philippines. For over 110 years, the Hispanic Society has studied, exhibited, and expanded upon the unrivaled Hispanic collections that Huntington provided as a legacy, becoming one of the world’s leading repositories focused on Hispanic arts, literature and cultures.
The Hispanic Society is a not-for-profit organization that relies on the generous support of individuals, government entities, foundations and corporations, to build upon the strength of its collections and provide free, high quality programs to its diverse local, national, and international audiences.
You can help us to build on Huntington’s legacy by becoming a member, by making a contribution through the Annual Fund, or by supporting our arts and education programs. We thank our supporters for helping the Hispanic Society to engage people with the creativity, knowledge, and ideas of the arts, literature, and cultures of the Hispanic world.
