Why Objects Matter: A Panel Discussion Presented in Partnership with the Museo Casa del Alabado
An interdisciplinary exploration in which art, anthropology, and archaeology examine the relationship between ceramics, time, and power.
This roundtable discussion will approach ceramics as active historical agents, carrying systems of knowledge, belief, and power across time. The dialogue brings into relation pre-Columbian cosmologies, colonial ruptures, the rise of modernity, and contemporary artistic practice, resisting linear art-historical narratives in favor of a shared inquiry into material culture as lived and contested experience.
