The Hispanic Society Museum & Library (HSM&L) offers full- and part-time internships to undergraduate and graduate students; recent graduates; and emerging professionals pursuing a career in museums, libraries, special collections, and/or public arts engagement. We strongly encourage individuals whose identities are historically underrepresented in these fields to submit an application.
Internships at the Hispanic Society Museum & Library provide participants with the opportunity to explore a variety of areas of interest, including education, public programs, curatorial support, exhibitions, conservation, collections management, marketing, and development. The preferred candidate will have a strong interest in museum or library work related to Hispanic arts, literatures, histories, and cultures. Within the context of the HSM&L, the term “Hispanic” refers to the countries wherein Spanish and/or Portuguese are or have been spoken languages, i.e. Spain, Portugal, Latin America, the Southwest United States, the Philippines, Portuguese India, etc.
